This presentation will review the etiology of maxillary and palatal defects: along with prosthetic management. Review components of speech, mastication, and deglutition; along with prosthetic management of resulting deficiencies.

• Describe the six components of speech.

• Identify prosthetic treatment modalities for maxillary defects and speech deficiencies.
