Contemporary Approach to Full-Arch Implant Fixed Rehabilitation
Presented by Yi-Cheng Lai, DDS, MSD, FRCDC, FACP
A full-arch implant-supported fixed prosthesis is a viable treatment option for patients with edentulism. This presentation starts with reviewing key diagnostic considerations, including the assessment of available alveolar bone, the maxillo-mandibular relationship, esthetic risk factors, and the restorative space required to guide the definitive treatment options. Additionally, the presentation will cover the use of Static Computer-Assisted Implant Surgery (sCAIS) as a modern technique for fully guided implant placement. Emphasis will be placed on the importance of thorough data acquisition and integration, digital trial setup, and the design of surgeon-friendly surgical guides, such as sequential or stackable guide systems, to enhance clinical precision and predictability.
At the conclusion of this session, attendees should be able to:
- Develop the diagnostic protocols for definitive treatment options.
- Utilize the contemporary approach of sCAIS for fully guided implant surgery.
- Recognize the potential pitfalls for each treatment and surgical option.
